Albanwr Cummins blasted a shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Clyde Hildreth having to make a save. Lludd Featherston might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Clyde Hildreth. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lludd Featherston ran back to his position shaking his head. Clyde Hildreth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lludd Featherston in the 8th minute of play. Clyde Hildreth didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lludd Featherston went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 13th match minute, Newport Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albanwr Cummins to maneuver through the defense. Albanwr Cummins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clyde Hildreth having to interfere. When Lludd Featherston came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Newport Utd fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lludd Featherston couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gwyglet Dell in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Teregud Kirk saved Newport Utd from getting behind. Wales's Clyde Hildreth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lludd Featherston in the 24th minute of play. Teregud Kirk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gwyglet Dell, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Albanwr Cummins's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Clyde Hildreth read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. Iona Lavender hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Newport Utd's Albanwr Cummins got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Albanwr Cummins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teregud Kirk made an important save on a dangerous shot by Seith Godwin in the 39th minute. In the 45th minute Gwyglet Dell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teregud Kirk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lludd Featherston stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Clyde Hildreth was a little too slow when Lludd Featherston got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 52nd minute. The score was now 0-2. Gwyglet Dell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gwyglet Dell kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. The supporters of Wales booed when Newport Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fercos Davis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Teregud Kirk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ieuan Holden, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Seith Godwin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Gwyglet Dell came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Wales fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gwyglet Dell couldn't finish the play. Iona Lavender hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Wales's Gwyglet Dell got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 80 minutes, Seith Godwin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wales's supporters crossed their fingers, but Seith Godwin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Newport Utd's goalkeeper Teregud Kirk, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Newport Utd's Teregud Kirk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gwyglet Dell in the 90th minute of play. The Wales supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Newport Utd's performance. The match ended with a win for Newport Utd.
