In the 14th minute Calder Jacob shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gowther Lea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Neath Utd's Gowther Lea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Calder Jacob in the 19th minute of play. A collision led to Neath Utd getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Sugyn Fitzjohn hit a great ball. A collision led to Maesteg FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Baddon Berwick hit a great ball. When Nissyen Brock, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 28 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Gerallt Donoghue was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 30 minutes into the match, Neath Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Calder Jacob came free, but Gowther Lea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Neath Utd's goalkeeper Gowther Lea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Nissyen Brock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tristan Webster scored 1-2 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gowther Lea, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 46 minutes, Calder Jacob managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maesteg FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Calder Jacob was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gwitart Gold might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gowther Lea. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gwitart Gold ran back to his position shaking his head. Gwitart Gold fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 49th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gowther Lea having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Calder Jacob was the one to do the kick off. 68 minutes into the match, Neath Utd's goalkeeper Gowther Lea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gwitart Gold. Nissyen Brock's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gerallt Donoghue read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Maesteg FC's Wren Dancy got a free kick in the 74th minute. 74 minutes into the match, Neath Utd's Ithel Cunningham broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The supporters of Neath Utd booed when Maesteg FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tristan Webster didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tristan Webster fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gowther Lea having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Neath Utd's zone, Gwitart Gold stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gowther Lea came out of the goal and Gwitart Gold tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Maesteg FC getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Aberthol Boucher hit a great ball. Neath Utd's Lot Blacksmith got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Maesteg FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
