UWA Ely's Pyrs Leech proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save UWA Ely from getting a goal against them. In the 30th minute, Adwr Hill hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Blathaon Finn's late challenge caught a UWA Ely's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
