Gwyr Blakey started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Floreat Salopia's goal looked a bit too open when Gwyr Blakey came free, but Granwen Day reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cadwaladr Gill made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kent Horton in the 4th minute. Gwyr Blakey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anyon Bignall fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Granwen Day having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Gwyr Blakey's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Granwen Day was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Fercos Bourns charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fercos Bourns the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 15th match minute, Maesteg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fercos Bourns to maneuver through the defense. After 18 minutes of play, Maesteg's Gwyr Blakey made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Granwen Day was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 24th minute, Tegvan Kean reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Cadwaladr Gill. The goal made the score 1-1. Tegvan Kean fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cadwaladr Gill having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Maesteg's zone, Aedd Cooper stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cadwaladr Gill came out of the goal and Aedd Cooper tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Granwen Day showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gwyr Blakey in the 33rd minute of the match. Anyon Bignall fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Granwen Day having to interfere. In the 40thth minute of the game Gwyr Blakey who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Floreat Salopia's Granwen Day was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 42 minutes, Anyon Bignall managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maesteg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anyon Bignall was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Floreat Salopia defense, Gwyr Blakey kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Granwen Day. The Floreat Salopia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Granwen Day should have stopped the shot. Anyon Bignall fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Granwen Day having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Sulyen Armstrong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Granwen Day tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Granwen Day stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gwyr Blakey's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. After a rather tough play, Floreat Salopia's Aedd Cooper got a free kick in the 70th minute. If Tegvan Kean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aedd Cooper kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anyon Bignall got free with Granwen Day in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Fercos Bourns came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Maesteg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fercos Bourns couldn't finish the play. Granwen Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gwyr Blakey, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. 90 minutes had been played when some careless play by Floreat Salopia's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Pedr Harley was slow to take the kick. During this time Maesteg's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Pedr Harley almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Floreat Salopia's Granwen Day did a great save. The supporters of Maesteg booed when Floreat Salopia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kent Horton didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Gwyr Blakey kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Granwen Day. That made the score 1-3 in the 94 minute of play. After 97 played minutes Floreat Salopia got a freekick which was hit by Aedd Cooper. The Floreat Salopia supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Maesteg's performance. The match ended with a win for Maesteg.
