After having played for 26 minutes, Selyf Bender managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Anynnawg Scribler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Waljan Gook, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 32 minutes into the match, Waljan Gook had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Anynnawg Scribler. Cardiff City F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Waljan Gook was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. When the final whistle sounded Widnes Utd left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Cardiff City F.C.
