Ely's Ysgawyn Kavanagh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Deiniol Hinton in the 8th minute of play. Cardiff's Bwlch Thatcher proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Cardiff from getting a goal against them. Cardiff's Bwlch Thatcher played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gwalchmei Jarvis in the 12th minute of play. Bwlch Thatcher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Modred Farley in the 30th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Ely's Govannon Glidden got a free kick in the 32nd minute. 35 minutes into the match, Ely's goal looked a bit too open when Deiniol Hinton came free, but Ysgawyn Kavanagh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gwyglet Garth got free with Bwlch Thatcher in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Modred Farley to make the kick off. In the 55th match minute, Ely was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ceithin Eaton to maneuver through the defense. After 57 minutes of play, Ely's Gwalchmei Jarvis made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. After 66 minutes, Dillus Johnson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cardiff and the Ely players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Colwyn Bowman was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 86 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Ely's Colwyn Bowman got a free kick in the 87th minute. If Ceithin Eaton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Ely's Gwyglet Garth got a free kick in the 95th minute. Modred Farley kicked well hit freekick during the 99th minute of the match. Ely walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
