Arthur Fishbourne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Merlin Godwin in the 13th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Drwst Gohdes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Trelew Land's Evan Lyons got control of the ball when Owein Findley tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Merlin Godwin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arthur Fishbourne was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Baudwin Francom got free with Evan Lyons in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Evan Lyons showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teryrnon Donovan, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Merlin Godwin was the one to do the kick off. Evan Lyons made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baudwin Francom in the 56th minute of play. Baudwin Francom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 72nd match minute, Trelew Land was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gorlois Halton to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Merlin Godwin got free with Arthur Fishbourne in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee gave Ely Utd a penalty, 88 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Teryrnon Donovan, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Trelew Land's Evan Lyons. 5-0. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Ely Utd had won after a very even match.
