Ifor Wainwright took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gwres Keatinge. Gwres Keatinge dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Syvwlch Cordwainer received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Hydd Dancer came out and tried to block the shot, but Syvwlch Cordwainer slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 23rd minute. Gwres Keatinge showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ifor Wainwright, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Gwres Keatinge showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trefor John in the 28th minute of the match. Ifor Wainwright sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gwres Keatinge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ifor Wainwright in the 34th minute of play. In the 34th match minute, Caerleon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Syvwlch Cordwainer to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Penvro Clark during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Penvro Clark hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Caerleon's Gwres Keatinge played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ifor Wainwright in the 43rd minute of play. Syvwlch Cordwainer charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Syvwlch Cordwainer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 44 played minutes Caerleon got a freekick which was hit by Syvwlch Cordwainer. In the 47th minute Ifor Wainwright shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gwres Keatinge saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ifor Wainwright stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Ifor Wainwright fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Denbigh's protests and gave Ifor Wainwright a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Denbigh getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Ifor Wainwright hit a great ball. If Clust Farthing had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Denbigh's goalkeeper Hydd Dancer, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 61st minute, Syvwlch Cordwainer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Caerleon fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. The supporters of Denbigh booed when Caerleon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wmffre Blackadder didn't get a good kick on the ball. 65 minutes into the game, Denbigh's Trefor John nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gwres Keatinge made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. Trefor John received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Gwres Keatinge tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ifor Wainwright sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 76 minutes into the game, Pellyn Lindsey was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Denbigh's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Caerleon the free kick. The supporters of Caerleon booed when Denbigh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pellyn Lindsey didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 79th minute Caerwyn Conyers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hydd Dancer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Syvwlch Cordwainer in the 80th minute of play forced Denbigh's goalkeeper Hydd Dancer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Caerleon's Gwres Keatinge played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ifor Wainwright in the 81st minute of play. A collision led to Caerleon getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Wmffre Blackadder hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Caerleon's zone, Ifor Wainwright stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gwres Keatinge came out of the goal and Ifor Wainwright tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Caerleon's Gwres Keatinge played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ifor Wainwright in the 97th minute of play. The Denbigh supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Denbigh would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
