Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hédi Sfar in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bassem Sellimi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 29 minutes into the match, West Bridgford United's Sofiene Merdassi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bassem Sellimi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The tension between the West Bridgford United and the Ashington AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Anouar Sioud hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Habib Braham made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moncef Ben Doulet in the 76th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sofiene Merdassi in the 81st minute of play forced Ashington AFC's goalkeeper Bassem Sellimi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Moncef Ben Doulet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hassene Marzouki kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. In the 87th match minute, West Bridgford United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hédi Ben Zid to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Maher Mestiri managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ashington AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Maher Mestiri was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Habib Braham breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Moncef Ben Doulet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched West Bridgford United eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
