Whitley Bay FC's Abdallah Mechergui proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Whitley Bay FC from getting a goal against them. Mohamed Ragued made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pierre Nafti in the 11th minute of play. 29 minutes in the game, Ahmed Khcharem fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Abdallah Mechergui having to interfere. With a little luck, Whitley Bay FC's Abdallah Mechergui got control of the ball when Férid Selliti tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 31st minute Ahmed Khcharem shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abdallah Mechergui saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 34th minute by Férid Selliti got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 37 minutes into the match, Whitley Bay FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ahmed Khcharem came free, but Abdallah Mechergui reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Férid Selliti recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 46 minutes into the match, Whitley Bay FC's goalkeeper Abdallah Mechergui had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Férid Selliti. Férid Selliti might have been able to make a better finish in the 49th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Abdallah Mechergui. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Férid Selliti ran back to his position shaking his head. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Ahmed Khcharem made the kick off in the second half. Mohamed Ragued took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sadok Dermech, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 54thth minute of the game Habib Bargawi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bucknell United's Mohamed Ragued was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Abdelkarim Ayari hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. When Pierre Nafti came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Whitley Bay FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pierre Nafti couldn't finish the play. Bucknell United's Ahmed Khcharem got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 70th minute Ahmed Khcharem shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abdallah Mechergui saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Bucknell United's Férid Selliti in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Whitley Bay FC's goalie prevented a goal. With his leg Mohamed Ragued managed to avoid a goal in the 76thth minute, when Whitley Bay FC's Pierre Nafti fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Abdallah Mechergui took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Férid Selliti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 80 minutes into the game, Férid Selliti was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bucknell United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Whitley Bay FC the free kick. Pierre Nafti struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Mohamed Ragued didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Whitley Bay FC. In the 93rd minute Ahmed Khcharem shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abdallah Mechergui saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Férid Selliti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdallah Mechergui having to interfere.
