Walid Dermech showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karim Essebsi in the 16th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Adel Naoui kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Chaker Saïdi. That made the score 1-0 in the 19 minute of play. Huddersfield's Walid Dermech played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karim Essebsi in the 21st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Férid Amri in the 22nd minute of play forced Huddersfield's goalkeeper Walid Dermech to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute, Férid Amri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Férid Amri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Huddersfield's Anis Trabelsi got a free kick in the 34th minute. In the 36th minute of the match Najeh El Hadj Kacem sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Walid Dermech skillfully saved the ball. After 37 minutes, Bernard Nefzi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guildford City and the Huddersfield players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 45 played minutes Guildford City got a freekick which was hit by Boubaker Bouzayane. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Karim Essebsi made a kick off. An unexpected shot in the 52nd minute by Karim Essebsi got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Férid Amri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walid Dermech having to interfere. Chaker Saïdi came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Huddersfield's Wissem Mosrati. But to his dismay, Wissem Mosrati quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Karim Essebsi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Adel Naoui had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wissem Mosrati received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Chaker Saïdi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Huddersfield's Adel Naoui got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mohamed Ali Ben Nacef hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. In the 80th minute, Mohamed Ali Ben Nacef hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Anis Trabelsi was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 80th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Chaker Saïdi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adel Naoui's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Huddersfield fans cheered their team off the field, for while Guildford City had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
