St Annes on Sea AFC's Mohamed Sellami played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hamza Mestiri in the 14th minute of play. Hamed Ben Saada hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Mohamed Sellami made an important save on a dangerous shot by Muhammad Yahyaoui in the 16th minute. Mokhtar Hicheri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 20 minutes into the match, Knapton United's goal looked a bit too open when Hamed Ben Saada came free, but Ali Chedli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The St Annes on Sea AFC fans' excitement grew in the 27th match minute when St Annes on Sea AFC's Yassine Tonniche looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The audience thought a goal was coming when Muhammad Yahyaoui got free with Mohamed Sellami in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mokhtar Hicheri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yassine Tonniche in the 34th minute of play forced Knapton United's goalkeeper Ali Chedli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46th minute, Alaeddine Akid hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Yassine Tonniche was the one to do the kick off. When Hamza Mestiri came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Knapton United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hamza Mestiri couldn't finish the play. After having played for 58 minutes, Mokhtar Hicheri managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. St Annes on Sea AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mokhtar Hicheri was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in St Annes on Sea AFC's zone, Hamza Mestiri stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mohamed Sellami came out of the goal and Hamza Mestiri tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 69 minutes, Yassine Tonniche managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. St Annes on Sea AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yassine Tonniche was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Knapton United's Ali Chedli proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Knapton United from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yassine Tonniche in the 74th minute of play forced Knapton United's goalkeeper Ali Chedli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 76th minute, Knapton United's Zied Yahia seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Zied Yahia the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Knapton United protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Zied Yahia had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Knapton United fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 75th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 78 minutes, St Annes on Sea AFC's Jean Gharbi got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Ali Chedli. Mokhtar Hicheri might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ali Chedli. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mokhtar Hicheri ran back to his position shaking his head. Mokhtar Hicheri could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Ali Chedli made a huge save. 87 minutes into the game, St Annes on Sea AFC's Yassine Tonniche nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ali Chedli made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Mohamed Sellami showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Muhammad Yahyaoui in the 92nd minute of the match. In the 98th minute of the match Jean Gharbi shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ali Chedli showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. St Annes on Sea AFC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
