After 8 minutes, Anis Memmi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Shelfield and the Horsham players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ali Ghodhbane fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ahmed Belkhodja having to interfere. If Ali Ghodhbane had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th minute Hamdi Trabelsi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Issam Namouchi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anis Memmi in the 20th minute of play forced Horsham's goalkeeper Issam Namouchi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Moustafa Bargougui lost his temper 27 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Horsham fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 27th minute. Penalty! The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abdelbaki Makni was the one to do the kick off. Ahmed Belkhodja took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abdelbaki Makni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Shelfield's Sofiène Majeri shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 68th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Issam Namouchi but with some difficulty. Hamdi Trabelsi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Issam Namouchi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 88th minute of the game. One of Horsham:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Shelfield:s goal. After a defensive mix-up in Shelfield's zone, Achraf Dahmani stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ahmed Belkhodja came out of the goal and Achraf Dahmani tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Shelfield eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
