In the 35th minute, Barkingside United's Jemeleddine Ghannouchi dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 46th minute, Mohamed Majeri ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Abdallah Tonniche was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zoubaier Limam to make the kick off. Taher Aziza came out of the goal and Lofti Saidi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lassaad Bouazizi kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Barkingside United's Ghazi Jelassi tried to score from far away in the 91st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Welwyn Garden City's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
