The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tarak Farhat charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tarak Farhat the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Uldale City booed when Great Staughton United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tarak Farhat didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mehdi Neifar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ali Jawachi in the 6th minute of the match. Chedi Sellimi made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Mohieddine Gammoudi sent off a good shot on target. Abdelhamid Melliti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lassaad Morjane's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mehdi Neifar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Mohieddine Gammoudi struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Chedi Sellimi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uldale City. The referee felt a red card was in order, 29 minutes into the game, when Alaeddine Tlili put in a rough tackle. In the 29th minute, one of Great Staughton United:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Great Staughton United. In the 31st minute of the game, Uldale City got a penalty. The shot went straight in by the left post. In the 34th minute, Mohamed El Bez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mehdi Neifar was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mohieddine Gammoudi got free with Chedi Sellimi in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Mohieddine Gammoudi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Chedi Sellimi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mohieddine Gammoudi, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Lassaad Morjane might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mehdi Neifar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lassaad Morjane ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Great Staughton United getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Ahmed Souayah hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Lassaad Morjane managed to get in a good position for a shot. Great Staughton United's supporters rose to their feet, but Lassaad Morjane was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mehdi Neifar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Mohieddine Gammoudi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Great Staughton United's Chedi Sellimi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mohieddine Gammoudi in the 79th minute of play. Abdelhamid Melliti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chedi Sellimi having to interfere. After 81 minutes, Mohamed El Bez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Great Staughton United and the Uldale City players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 81 played minutes Great Staughton United got a freekick which was hit by Mohamed El Bez. If Mohieddine Gammoudi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 87 minutes into the match, Great Staughton United's goal looked a bit too open when Mohieddine Gammoudi came free, but Chedi Sellimi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 97 played minutes Great Staughton United got a freekick which was hit by Tarak Farhat. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Great Staughton United eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
