An unexpectedly hard shot by Hichem Abdelkader in the 7th minute of play forced Rayleigh United's goalkeeper Aymen Boumnijel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Karim Boumnijel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rayleigh United's supporters rose to their feet, but Karim Boumnijel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Salah Ghigani breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Lassaad Mosrati had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 16th minute, Blaise Badra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hichem Abdelkader received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Aymen Boumnijel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Abdelkarim Diwa's late challenge caught a Cowes City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Abdelkarim Diwa helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Rayleigh United's Abdelkarim Diwa got a free kick in the 31st minute. Aymen Boumnijel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hichem Abdelkader in the 35th minute of play. Cowes City's Salah Ghigani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karim Boumnijel in the 44th minute of play. Aymen Boumnijel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hichem Abdelkader in the 46th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Abderrahim Chedli made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hichem Abdelkader during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Cowes City getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Hichem Abdelkader hit a great ball. In the 62nd minute, Issam Karoui hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Férid Ben Ghodhbane hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Lassaad Mosrati fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aymen Boumnijel having to interfere. A collision led to Cowes City getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Habib Loussayef hit a great ball. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Rayleigh United's goalkeeper Aymen Boumnijel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Blaise Badra fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cowes City's protests and gave Blaise Badra a yellow card for diving instead. In the 80th match minute, Cowes City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Blaise Badra to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Cowes City's zone, Karim Boumnijel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Salah Ghigani came out of the goal and Karim Boumnijel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Cowes City getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Hamdi Robime hit a great ball. In the 89th minute, Abderrahim Chedli got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lassaad Mosrati fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aymen Boumnijel having to interfere. Cowes City were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
