In the 23rd match minute, Mossley United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mohamed Jennet to maneuver through the defense. Abdelbaki Khaled took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sofiene Clayton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mossley United's Abdelbaki Khaled played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sofiene Clayton in the 32nd minute of play. Abdelkarim Khalifa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Mossley United's Salah Belhaj Clayton got a free kick in the 39th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Openshaw United's Chaker Soussia tried to score from far away in the 40th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Habib Zouiten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abdelkarim Khalifa, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Abdelkarim Khalifa might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Habib Zouiten. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Abdelkarim Khalifa ran back to his position shaking his head. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abdelkarim Khalifa was the one to do the kick off. Mohamed Jennet's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Habib Zouiten firmly grabbed it by the left post. Nejib Soliman struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Habib Zouiten didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mossley United.
