When the match clock showed 5 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Abdessalem Saïdi sped through Stroud's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Med Ali Dhouib. Med Ali Dhouib made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Abdessalem Saïdi sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chokri Mzoughi in the 12th minute of play forced Stroud's goalkeeper Med Ali Dhouib to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marko Hirvonen hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Chokri Mzoughi struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Med Ali Dhouib didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for South Benfleet. Róbert Čuntala made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raouf Naouali in the 25th minute of play. Róbert Čuntala took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Habib Selliti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abdessalem Saïdi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Med Ali Dhouib tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 35th minute Raouf Naouali shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Róbert Čuntala saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 37th minute, Gösta Nyman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Bechir Ouakili came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Stroud fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bechir Ouakili couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Chokri Mzoughi in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Med Ali Dhouib prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Abdessalem Saïdi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Raouf Naouali to strike the kick off in the second half. Abdessalem Saïdi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Med Ali Dhouib having to interfere. After 58 played minutes South Benfleet got a freekick which was hit by Gösta Nyman. If Raouf Naouali had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abdessalem Saïdi in the 63rd minute of play forced Stroud's goalkeeper Med Ali Dhouib to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Med Ali Dhouib showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chokri Mzoughi, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Chokri Mzoughi in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Med Ali Dhouib saved Stroud from getting behind. Róbert Čuntala showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raouf Naouali, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Stroud's goalkeeper Med Ali Dhouib, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Abdessalem Saïdi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abdessalem Saïdi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Med Ali Dhouib read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. If Abdessalem Saïdi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee ended the match the South Benfleet players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
