Kais Karel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ben Hicheri in the 13th minute. Ali Jomaa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Aldbrough's zone, Ben Hicheri stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kais Karel came out of the goal and Ben Hicheri tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emir Haj Nafti's late challenge caught a Aldbrough's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Emir Haj Nafti helped the player get up and apologised. Emir Haj Nafti hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Mustafa Ben Sellimi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chedi Ameur, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. 38 minutes into the match, Aldbrough's Chedi Ameur sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mustafa Ben Sellimi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Chedi Ameur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Eltham City's Ali Jomaa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Kais Karel. That made the score 2-1 after 47 minutes of play.

Eltham City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ali Jomaa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Aldbrough's Ali Zahaf got a free kick in the 93rd minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Eltham City fans cheered their team off the field, for while Aldbrough had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
