If Mohamed Dhahri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 32nd match minute, Luton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aymen Braiek to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Luton's Aymen Bejaoui slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Caid Boulaabi. That made the score 1-1 after 40 minutes of play. Mohamed Dhahri blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hassen al-Munsif Bey having to make a save. Aymen Bejaoui fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Caid Boulaabi having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Caid Boulaabi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Radhi Limam, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. When Aymen Bejaoui came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Luton fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aymen Bejaoui couldn't finish the play. 60 minutes into the match, Widnes City's goal looked a bit too open when Aymen Bejaoui came free, but Caid Boulaabi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Widnes City's Youssef Ben Zaghouani got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Caid Boulaabi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aymen Bejaoui, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Luton booed when Widnes City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mohamed Ben Younes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aymen Bejaoui fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Caid Boulaabi having to interfere. Aymen Bejaoui struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Caid Boulaabi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Luton. Abdelaziz Zitouni hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Radhi Limam scored 2-1 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Caid Boulaabi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Caid Boulaabi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aymen Bejaoui in the 87th minute of the match. Mohamed Dhahri could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Hassen al-Munsif Bey made a huge save. After having played for 93 minutes, Mohamed Dhahri managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Widnes City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mohamed Dhahri was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Widnes City players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Luton.
