Helsby's Chaouki Karoui played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mohamed Salah Ben Bouazizi in the 37th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mohamed Salah Ben Bouazizi in the 38th minute of play forced Helsby's goalkeeper Chaouki Karoui to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Mohamed Salah Ben Bouazizi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd minute, Jawhar Radhouani got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Moncef Nafti got free with Muhammad Jemmali in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With 54 minutes on the clock, Hédi Mouelhi commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Muhammad Jemmali was a little too slow when Moncef Nafti got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 58th minute. The score was now 1-1. If Jawhar Radhouani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute, Mounir Mestiri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Helsby booed when Great Baddow was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jawhar Radhouani didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 90 played minutes Great Baddow got a freekick which was hit by Muhammad Bourguiba. Jawhar Radhouani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chaouki Karoui having to interfere. Great Baddow were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Helsby to leave the ground with a draw.
