Aldbrough's Yassine Bouzaiene proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Aldbrough from getting a goal against them. In the 6th minute Mourad Namouchi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yassine Bouzaiene saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ayèche Abdi charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ayèche Abdi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Aldbrough booed when Shelfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ayèche Abdi didn't get a good kick on the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Mourad Namouchi dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Yassine Bouzaiene, 1-0. Jamel M'Hedhbi struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Karim Jelassi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Aldbrough. With a little luck, Aldbrough's Yassine Bouzaiene got control of the ball when Karim Neifar tried to sneak it across the goal line. Karim Neifar's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 26thth minute, Yassine Bouzaiene skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Hedi Zitouni charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hedi Zitouni the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Aldbrough getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Hedi Zitouni hit a great ball. In the 29th minute of the match Shelfield got a corner. Aldbrough's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mohamed Salah Ben Sellimi ran over to the corner to take the kick. The audience was convinced that Amira Zahaf's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Karim Jelassi was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. During the 33rd minute of the match Hedi Zitouni completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Hedi Zitouni a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Aldbrough's Hedi Zitouni got a free kick in the 34th minute. If Karim Neifar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mourad Namouchi in the 42nd minute of play forced Aldbrough's goalkeeper Yassine Bouzaiene to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute, Mohamed Azzaro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Jamel M'Hedhbi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aldbrough's supporters rose to their feet, but Jamel M'Hedhbi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Karim Jelassi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hassan Jaidi kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Karim Jelassi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jamel M'Hedhbi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mourad Namouchi was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Shelfield getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Ayèche Abdi hit a great ball. Jamel M'Hedhbi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 56 played minutes Shelfield got a freekick which was hit by Anis Ben Mbarek. The attack was good, but when Jamel M'Hedhbi in the 58th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Karim Neifar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Yassine Bouzaiene tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Shelfield's Mourad Namouchi got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 68th minute of the game. One of Aldbrough:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Shelfield:s goal. After 75 played minutes Aldbrough got a freekick which was hit by Mohamed Arfa. Mohamed Salah Ben Sellimi took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 76th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Yassine Bouzaiene. Aldbrough's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Karim Neifar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jamel M'Hedhbi got free with Karim Jelassi in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Shelfield fans cheered their team off the field, for while Aldbrough had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
