With his leg Jaouhar Ghannem managed to avoid a goal in the 39thth minute, when Symba's Khaled Chérif fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adel Ladgham during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 40 minutes into the match, Symba's Mondher Ghodbane broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Symba's Anis Achour played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Majed Mnari in the 44th minute of play. COT's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sílvio Veiga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0.
