Seating: 1782, VIP seats: 154) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Neil Innie got the match started through his kick off. If Barry Cottrill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rupert McMath showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Barry Cottrill, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. AC Glasgow Football were furious when Jeremy McPhorich was red carded, 21 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 21st minute of the game. One of AC Glasgow Football:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Forfar City:s goal. After some careless play in the AC Glasgow Football defense, Darius McMonies kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rupert McMath. The AC Glasgow Football fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rupert McMath should have stopped the shot. Frank Neal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Wayne Stevenson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Barry Cottrill came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Forfar City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Barry Cottrill couldn't finish the play.
The wind increased when Barry Cottrill made the kick off in the second half. Forfar City's Darius McMonies got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 57 minutes into the game, Irvin Elder recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rupert McMath. Irvin Elder showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. In the 59th match minute, Forfar City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Davie McGhie to maneuver through the defense. With an all-out effort, Forfar City's Rupert McMath threw himself towards the right post 65 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Barry Cottrill, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Darius McMonies had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 68 minutes into the match, AC Glasgow Football's goal looked a bit too open when Barry Cottrill came free, but Rupert McMath reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 70thth minute of the game Barry Cottrill who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AC Glasgow Football's Rupert McMath was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Darius McMonies had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 77 minutes, Frank Neal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AC Glasgow Football's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frank Neal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 78th minute, Frank Neal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, AC Glasgow Football's James Dunlop got a free kick in the 84th minute. Rupert McMath made an important save on a dangerous shot by Darius McMonies in the 86th minute. If Frank Neal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94thth minute of the game Barry Cottrill who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AC Glasgow Football's Rupert McMath was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Forfar City's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
