The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Terence Barrie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 2nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 6th minute, Steven McKeochan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 8 minutes into the game, Kilmacolm's Connor France nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ronald Forsyth made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Terence Barrie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Reece Innie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ron Ure in the 15th minute of play. Reece Innie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Dinwoodie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Connor France succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 23rd playminute. In the 26th minute of the match Conor Connelly sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ronald Forsyth skillfully saved the ball. 28 minutes into the game, Alex Dinwoodie cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Reece Innie was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Ter Foster came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Golspie fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ter Foster couldn't finish the play. Terence Barrie received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ronald Forsyth came out and tried to block the shot, but Terence Barrie slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 34th minute. Reece Innie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alex Dinwoodie, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. The supporters of Golspie booed when Kilmacolm was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steven McKeochan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After taking down the ball on Golspie's corner Ryan Dean fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Reece Innie quite easily take care of the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alex Dinwoodie stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rob Grewar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Reece Innie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 54th minute, Alex Dinwoodie fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Reece Innie, passed just outside the right post. In the 68th minute, Kilmacolm's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ron Ure fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Terence Barrie struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Ronald Forsyth didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kilmacolm. Ron Ure struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. In the 85th minute, Steven McKeochan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Reece Innie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex Dinwoodie in the 91st minute of the match. If Terence Barrie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the Golspie players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Kilmacolm.
