Spectators: 7776 (Terracing: 5833, Seating: 1788, VIP seats: 155) Gavin McDaniell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Dinwoodie in the 6th minute of play. Ron Ure recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 13 played minutes Golspie got a freekick which was hit by Alex Dinwoodie. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Ron Ure managed to get in a good position for a shot. Golspie's supporters rose to their feet, but Ron Ure was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gavin McDaniell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 22nd match minute, Peterculter was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Larry Henderson to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Peterculter's zone, Alex Dinwoodie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gavin McDaniell came out of the goal and Alex Dinwoodie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 27 minutes, Ron Ure managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Golspie's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ron Ure was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 28 minutes into the game, Golspie's Alex Dinwoodie nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gavin McDaniell made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Gavin McDaniell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alex Dinwoodie, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lloyd Holden made a kick off. Golspie's Roy Bowers got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lloyd Holden received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Ronald Forsyth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Golspie's Alex Dinwoodie got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ronald Forsyth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lloyd Holden, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ronald Forsyth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lloyd Holden in the 78th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Golspie's Rob Grewar got a free kick in the 80th minute. When Ron Ure came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Golspie fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ron Ure couldn't finish the play. Alex Dinwoodie struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Gavin McDaniell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Golspie. Gavin McDaniell acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 89th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Brandon McCaishe.
