After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Timothy McLewis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Livingston's supporters rose to their feet, but Timothy McLewis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronald Forsyth breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rob Grewar kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Ronald Forsyth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Timothy McLewis in the 28th minute of the match. After having played for 30 minutes, Daniel McLure managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Livingston's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel McLure was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alex Dinwoodie might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Derek Wallis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alex Dinwoodie ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Livingston getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Frankie McLulich hit a great ball. In the 34th minute of the match Ryan Dean shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Derek Wallis showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 37th minute of the match Ryan Dean sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Derek Wallis skillfully saved the ball. Daniel McLure sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ron Ure had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Timothy McLewis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ronald Forsyth was relentless in the 48th minute of the game. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alex Dinwoodie made a kick off. After some careless play in the Livingston defense, Ron Ure kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Derek Wallis. The Livingston fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Derek Wallis should have stopped the shot. Derek Wallis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ron Ure in the 67th minute. Alex Dinwoodie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Derek Wallis having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 75 minutes, Alex Dinwoodie took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Derek Wallis to make any attempt to save it. Livingston's Derek Wallis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Livingston from getting a goal against them. After 85 minutes of play, Livingston's Timothy McLewis made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ronald Forsyth was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Daniel McLure had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Livingston supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Golspie's performance. The match ended with a win for Golspie.
