Celtic Killers FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 25th minute, when Chris McLeish scored to the left of an out of position Benjamin Corbet, making the score, 1-0. John Donillson charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed John Donillson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 28th minute, John Donillson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christopher Christie got free with Benjamin Corbet in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Chris McLeish had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Broxburn booed when Celtic Killers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Barry didn't get a good kick on the ball. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when George Lang stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Broxburn's zone, George Lang stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Steve Dickson came out of the goal and George Lang tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Roddie McEachern could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Steve Dickson made a huge save. Steve Dickson came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Celtic Killers FC's Roddie McEachern. But to his dismay, Roddie McEachern quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Christopher Christie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Benjamin Corbet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chris McLeish's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benjamin Corbet read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. If George Lang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Steve Dickson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from George Lang, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Celtic Killers FC's Benjamin Corbet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chris McLeish in the 76th minute of play. Roddie McEachern blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Steve Dickson having to make a save. In the 81st minute Ewan Barns suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. Broxburn's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chris McLeish was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Christopher Christie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
