Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bob McCombie charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bob McCombie the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bob McCombie kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Les McWalrick received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Ian Doig tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 13thth minute of the game Les McWalrick who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Nasty Dreams FC's Ian Doig was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Wal Fair took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jason McGilvray, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Nasty Dreams FC booed when Canonbie was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Terry Mavor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Shane France fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wal Fair having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Nasty Dreams FC's Max McKnight got a free kick in the 29th minute. Ian Doig showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Les McWalrick, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Bob McCombie might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ian Doig. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bob McCombie ran back to his position shaking his head. Les McWalrick fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ian Doig having to interfere. Bob McCombie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Ian Doig tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Bob McCombie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bob McCombie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 50th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ian Doig having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jason McGilvray to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Canonbie defense, Will McCaw kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wal Fair. The Canonbie fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wal Fair should have stopped the shot. Conor Thomson hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Shane France took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wal Fair. Wal Fair dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 81st minute Jason McGilvray shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wal Fair saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Lucas McCuag fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Canonbie's protests and gave Lucas McCuag a yellow card for diving instead. The audience was convinced that Jason McGilvray's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wal Fair was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. The supporters of Nasty Dreams FC booed when Canonbie was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bob McCombie didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Bob McCombie got the opportunity to take care of a free kick it resulted in a really dangerous shot that almost went in the goal. Instead the ball went too high, a missed opportunity for Canonbie. If Lucas McCuag had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lucas McCuag received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 100th minute.
