A collision led to Aston Villa F.C. getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Calum Luke hit a great ball. In the 14th minute Oliver McCorkill shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Connall saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 22nd minute, Reece McQuarrie got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ross McIlriach kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. In the 25th minute Reece McQuarrie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mike Meikleham saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With 29 minutes on the clock, Jordan McCloy commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Matt Stringer struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Peter Connall didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dunblane. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Matt Stringer to make the kick off. Matt Stringer might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Peter Connall. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Matt Stringer ran back to his position shaking his head. Conor McGillivray fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Connall having to interfere. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Aston Villa F.C.'s goalkeeper Peter Connall, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Reece McQuarrie managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aston Villa F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Reece McQuarrie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mike Meikleham breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nick McNamell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. The Aston Villa F.C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Aston Villa F.C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
