Spectators: 6783 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1783, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Anthony Norman started the match with the kick off. Kevin Tonnochy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomas McDonnell in the 3rd minute of the match. 6 minutes into the match, Helmsdale's goal looked a bit too open when Anthony Norman came free, but Tam Federith reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 12 minutes into the match, Dunblane's goalkeeper Kevin Tonnochy had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jordan Greig. Tam Federith stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anthony Norman's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Tam Federith took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Phillip Murchison, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jordan Greig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Kevin Tonnochy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Phillip Murchison might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tam Federith. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Phillip Murchison ran back to his position shaking his head. Tam Federith showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anthony Norman, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. The Dunblane fans' excitement grew in the 33rd match minute when Dunblane's Phillip Murchison looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When Jordan Greig came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Helmsdale fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jordan Greig couldn't finish the play. If Freddie Barlow had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Thomas McDonnell to strike the kick off in the second half. Anthony Norman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Phillip Murchison recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Phillip Murchison fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tam Federith having to interfere. 72 minutes into the match, Phillip Murchison had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tam Federith. Helmsdale's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Phillip Murchison was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 81st match minute, Dunblane was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guy McGhee to maneuver through the defense. In the 82nd minute of the match Adam McCabe sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kevin Tonnochy skillfully saved the ball. If Thomas McDonnell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th minute Anthony Norman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tam Federith saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Dunblane eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
