Spectators: 6790 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1790, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Anthony Norman got the match started through his kick off. Jordan Greig recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kevin Tonnochy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thomas McDonnell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tam Federith made an important save on a dangerous shot by Phillip Murchison in the 11th minute. Jordan Greig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Kevin Tonnochy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Anthony Norman came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Dunblane fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anthony Norman couldn't finish the play. Phillip Murchison recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kevin Tonnochy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thomas McDonnell in the 27th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Jordan Greig left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Helmsdale fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Anthony Norman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anthony Norman in the 38th minute of play forced Helmsdale's goalkeeper Tam Federith to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tam Federith made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anthony Norman in the 40th minute of play. Phillip Murchison who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 43rdth minute tested the skills of Tam Federith when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Thomas McDonnell fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Helmsdale's protests and gave Thomas McDonnell a yellow card for diving instead. In the 47th match minute, Helmsdale was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thomas McDonnell to maneuver through the defense. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Thomas McDonnell made a kick off. After 51 played minutes Helmsdale got a freekick which was hit by Guy Abbotson. Helmsdale's Tam Federith played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Phillip Murchison in the 54th minute of play. Phillip Murchison sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th minute Phillip Murchison shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tam Federith saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 66 minutes of play, Dunblane's Anthony Norman made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tam Federith was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Anthony Norman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tam Federith took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Phillip Murchison, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Aaron Dinwoodie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anthony Norman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tam Federith having to interfere. A collision led to Helmsdale getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Tam Howie hit a great ball. Terry McMichael was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 85th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Phillip Murchison sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 90 minutes, Tam Howie mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Helmsdale and the Dunblane players grew even worse after the yellow card. 93 minutes into the game, Dunblane's Anthony Norman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tam Federith made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1.
