Spectators: 6782 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1782, VIP seats: 0) Matt Neilson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Willie Griesck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 18 minutes into the match, Melrose's goal looked a bit too open when Willie Griesck came free, but Matt Neilson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Matt Neilson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Grewar in the 21st minute of play. Elliot Donaldson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Jake King tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jake King showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elliot Donaldson, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Donald McKnight might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jake King. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Donald McKnight ran back to his position shaking his head. If Elliot Donaldson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Willie Griesck recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 41st minute Lewis McCause shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jake King saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Corrour's zone, Donald McKnight stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jake King came out of the goal and Donald McKnight tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Elliot Donaldson to make the kick off. Jake King showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elliot Donaldson in the 60th minute of the match. If Donald McKnight had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elliot Donaldson charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Elliot Donaldson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Corrour booed when Melrose was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elliot Donaldson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Melrose's Timmy McDulothe got a free kick in the 69th minute. In the 78th minute Donald McKnight shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jake King saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Corrour's Jake King played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donald McKnight in the 80th minute of play. Frank Grewar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Matt Neilson made a huge save. 84 minutes into the match, Donald McKnight had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jake King. Corrour's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Donald McKnight was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. A collision led to Melrose getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Ewan McCartair hit a great ball. Elliot Donaldson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jake King stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Donald McKnight's shot from short distance in the 99th minute. There was no doubt that Melrose were the better team. Melrose's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
