The referee ignored Eyemouth City's protests and gave Craig GruaMcH a yellow card for diving instead. Craig GruaMcH kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. After 10 minutes, Quentin Lennie mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Eyemouth City and the Paisley players grew even worse after the yellow card. Walter Gilroy kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. If Ivan McCall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paisley's Rod McDavid proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Paisley from getting a goal against them. After 28 minutes of play Eyemouth City's Craig GruaMcH was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Paisley booed when Eyemouth City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Craig GruaMcH didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wayne Addison took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Adrian McCrouther. Adrian McCrouther dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1.

After a defensive mix-up in Eyemouth City's zone, Sam McCodrum stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adrian McCrouther came out of the goal and Sam McCodrum tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rod McDavid showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan McCall in the 54th minute of the match. Ivan McCall blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rod McDavid having to make a save. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Eyemouth City's goalkeeper Adrian McCrouther, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sam McCodrum took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Adrian McCrouther. Adrian McCrouther dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Walter Gilroy kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Adrian McCrouther made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wayne Addison in the 74th minute of play. Ivan McCall received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Rod McDavid tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wayne Addison in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adrian McCrouther saved Eyemouth City from getting behind. Adrian McCrouther stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wayne Addison's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. Rod McDavid showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan McCall in the 84th minute of the match. Ivan McCall fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rod McDavid having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wayne Addison in the 90th minute of play forced Eyemouth City's goalkeeper Adrian McCrouther to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rod McDavid took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivan McCall, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
