Seating: 1808, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Freddie Swan got the match started through his kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Pitlochry's Keith Lemond slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Harold McRuer. That made the score 1-0 after 3 minutes of play. Dominic Alcorn hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Robbie Abbotts short, quick shot in the 15thth minute got Harold McRuer to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Harold McRuer was out of position in the 17 minute of play, and Robbie Abbott capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Robbie Abbott really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Harold McRuer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robbie Abbott in the 20th minute of play. When Tim McVurich came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Pitlochry fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tim McVurich couldn't finish the play. Tim McVurich received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Harold McRuer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Harold McRuer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tim McVurich in the 30th minute. If Tim McVurich had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Dundee Junkies's zone, Tim McVurich stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Harold McRuer came out of the goal and Tim McVurich tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Robbie Abbott made a kick off. Keith Lemond's late challenge caught a Dundee Junkies's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Keith Lemond helped the player get up and apologised. In the 61st minute, Vinny Will fired a really elegant long shot, but Jake Robson threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. Harold McRuer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tim McVurich, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. In the 63rd match minute, Dundee Junkies was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eric Drysdale to maneuver through the defense. Robbie Abbott might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Harold McRuer. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Harold McRuer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 92 minutes into the match, Pitlochry's Tim McVurich sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Harold McRuer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 94 minutes, Robbie Abbott managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pitlochry's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robbie Abbott was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
