Goal Keepers Academy's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Stonehaven the free kick. Tim Crossley hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Barry Stenhouse in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benjamin Hamilton saved Goal Keepers Academy from getting behind. After some careless play in the Goal Keepers Academy defense, Barry Stenhouse kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benjamin Hamilton. The Goal Keepers Academy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benjamin Hamilton should have stopped the shot. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Goal Keepers Academy's goalkeeper Benjamin Hamilton, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Phil Gallie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stonehaven's supporters crossed their fingers, but Phil Gallie was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. George McTear showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jake McMonies in the 40th minute of the match. When Tim Crossley was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 44 minutes had been played. Tim Crossley kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. If Barry Stenhouse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Goal Keepers Academy players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Stonehaven were winning 0-1.

The supporters of Stonehaven booed when Goal Keepers Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lewis McLeish didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 56th minute Stonehaven were awarded a corner. Duncan Hawson went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Duncan Hawson almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Goal Keepers Academy's Benjamin Hamilton did a great save. Goal Keepers Academy's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Barry Stenhouse 61 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-2. Barry Stenhouse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamin Hamilton having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Anthony McCanish managed to get in a good position for a shot. Goal Keepers Academy's supporters rose to their feet, but Anthony McCanish was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. George McTear breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Phil Gallie got free with Benjamin Hamilton in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Phil Gallie's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 75thth minute, Benjamin Hamilton skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Dean Huntly hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. With an all-out effort, Stonehaven's Benjamin Hamilton threw himself towards the right post 82 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Barry Stenhouse, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 84th minute Barry Stenhouse shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamin Hamilton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Phil Gallie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Stonehaven's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
