Spectators: 6801 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1801, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. John Balmer started the match with the kick off. The audience was convinced that Bruce Boyes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Troy Gillanders was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. Troy Gillanders made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruce Boyes in the 12th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Strathdon United's zone, John Balmer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wayne McInroy came out of the goal and John Balmer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ronan McVicar's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 16thth minute, Troy Gillanders skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With an all-out effort, Strathdon United's Troy Gillanders threw himself towards the right post 17 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bruce Boyes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Troy Gillanders made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Ronan McVicar sent off a good shot on target. 22 minutes into the match, Gregor McVurie notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Strathdon United's Wayne McInroy. Wayne McInroy was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Red Devils getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Henry McOwen hit a great ball. Wayne Oliver fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Troy Gillanders having to interfere. Ricky Limond hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. 41 minutes into the match, Red Devils's goalkeeper Troy Gillanders had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ronan McVicar. 47 minutes into the game, Strathdon United's Ronan McVicar nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Troy Gillanders made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1.

Bruce Boyes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Troy Gillanders tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 71st match minute, Red Devils was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Owen Todd to maneuver through the defense. Strathdon United's Ronan McVicar got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ronan McVicar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Troy Gillanders tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stuart Forrester's late challenge caught a Strathdon United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Stuart Forrester helped the player get up and apologised. Troy Gillanders made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruce Boyes in the 83rd minute of play. John Balmer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Strathdon United's Wayne McInroy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Balmer in the 87th minute of play. 89 minutes into the match, Ronan McVicar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Troy Gillanders. Red Devils's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ronan McVicar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Strathdon United's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
