Carrbridge's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 9 minutes into the match, Carrbridge's goal looked a bit too open when Nigel McInnes came free, but William Smith reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 10th minute Gavin Barns shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gary McWhirr saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gary McWhirr was a little too slow when Fergus Dochart got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 11th minute. The score was now 1-0. Fergus Dochart could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Gary McWhirr made a huge save. In the 20th minute Nigel McInnes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but William Smith saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 1-1 became the score in the 22nd minute when Douglas McLennan elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. When Carrbridge's Gavin Barns in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Dunblane's goalie prevented a goal. Dunblane's Gary McWhirr proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Dunblane from getting a goal against them. After recieving a nice pass, Carrbridge's Gordon Yuill tried to score from far away in the 40th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. If Gavin Barns had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gavin Barns in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gary McWhirr saved Dunblane from getting behind. A collision led to Carrbridge getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Ian McKersey hit a great ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Douglas McLennan to make the kick off. Nigel McInnes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Dunblane's Gary Mason got a free kick in the 58th minute. Carrbridge's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gordon Yuill in the 63rd minute. Carrbridge's Nick McHardy was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gary McWhirr in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Gavin Barns scored 2-1 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gary McWhirr, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Carrbridge's Matt McTear got a free kick in the 68th minute. Nigel McInnes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without William Smith having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Gavin Barns managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carrbridge's supporters rose to their feet, but Gavin Barns was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gary McWhirr breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Chris McThomas kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Gary McWhirr showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fergus Dochart in the 79th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Carrbridge defense, Nigel McInnes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of William Smith. The Carrbridge fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that William Smith should have stopped the shot. Nigel McInnes struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. William Smith didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dunblane. Nigel McInnes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. William Smith tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
