Spectators: 6799 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1799, VIP seats: 0) An unexpected shot in the 6th minute by Douglas McLennan got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After having played for 18 minutes, Ronan McVicar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Strathdon United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronan McVicar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nigel McInnes's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 21stth minute, Wayne McInroy skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Wayne Oliver took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gary McWhirr. Gary McWhirr dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Chris McThomas charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Chris McThomas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 34 minutes into the match, Strathdon United's Bruce Boyes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gary McWhirr narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bruce Boyes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Wayne Oliver fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Strathdon United's protests and gave Wayne Oliver a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Strathdon United getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Wayne Oliver hit a great ball. In the 42nd minute, Douglas McLennan fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Wayne McInroy, passed just outside the right post. Dunblane's Douglas McLennan got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wayne McInroy made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nigel McInnes in the 46th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bruce Boyes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Strathdon United's zone, Nigel McInnes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wayne McInroy came out of the goal and Nigel McInnes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Ronan McVicar came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Strathdon United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ronan McVicar couldn't finish the play. In the 59th minute Bruce Boyes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gary McWhirr saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Douglas McLennan came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Dunblane fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Douglas McLennan couldn't finish the play. Nigel McInnes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wayne McInroy having to interfere. Strathdon United's Bruce Boyes got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 73rd minute, Ronan McVicar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gary McWhirr was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Dunblane's Irvin Millar got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 80th minute Douglas McLennan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wayne McInroy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 86th minute, Douglas McLennan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dunblane's Nigel McInnes got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 91 minutes of play, Dunblane's Douglas McLennan made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wayne McInroy was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Nigel McInnes in the 96th minute of play forced Strathdon United's goalkeeper Wayne McInroy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
