Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Wally McNuir kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Paddy McComas kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. In the 20th minute, Larry Casey got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Darren McGilledon hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Norman McLaverty fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Archie McQuey having to interfere. Doune's Norman McLaverty managed to work through Wick United's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Norman McLaverty dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Ronald Appleby recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 34thth minute of the game Norman McLaverty who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Wick United's Archie McQuey was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lloyd Dobie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John Gardiner having to interfere. Ronald Appleby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Norman McLaverty received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Archie McQuey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Norman McLaverty fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Archie McQuey having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ronald Appleby in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Archie McQuey prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Norman McLaverty stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Norman McLaverty fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Archie McQuey having to interfere. In the 56th minute, Ronald Appleby ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Archie McQuey was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paddy McComas during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 59th match minute, Wick United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paddy McComas to maneuver through the defense. Archie McQuey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Norman McLaverty in the 62nd minute of the match. Jack Kean kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Grant Fletcher's long shot made the audience stand up and applaude when it rumbled by Archie McQuey on his right side and into the goal. 71 minutes into the game it was 2-0. After a rather tough play, Wick United's Sam Day got a free kick in the 75th minute. After 79 minutes, Norman McLaverty mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Doune and the Wick United players grew even worse after the yellow card. Norman McLaverty kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Lloyd Dobie's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but John Gardiner read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. Archie McQuey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Norman McLaverty in the 85th minute of the match. 95 minutes into the match, Ronald Appleby notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Wick United's Archie McQuey. Archie McQuey was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. There was no doubt that Doune were the better team. Doune's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
