Tom Gold recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 14th match minute, Bristol Brigde House was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alisdair Fostar to maneuver through the defense. 19 minutes into the match, Nigel McQuisten had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ter Murchison. Ayr's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nigel McQuisten was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Gus McDulothe's late challenge caught a Bristol Brigde House's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gus McDulothe helped the player get up and apologised. Ayr's Ter Murchison proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Ayr from getting a goal against them. After 34 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Bristol Brigde House! The referee gave Ayr a penalty, 36 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Theo McRury, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Bristol Brigde House's Declan McCoull. 1-1. Declan McCoull took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tom Gold, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Stevie McDavid had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Stevie McDavid to strike the kick off in the second half. If Tom Gold had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ray Hughes's late challenge caught a Ayr's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. After some careless play in the Bristol Brigde House defense, Tom Gold kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Declan McCoull. The Bristol Brigde House fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Declan McCoull should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Ayr's Tom Gold slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Declan McCoull. That made the score 1-3 after 61 minutes of play. Sam McGilbert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alisdair Fostar in the 68th minute of play forced Ayr's goalkeeper Ter Murchison to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Bristol Brigde House booed when Ayr was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gus McDulothe didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 70 played minutes Bristol Brigde House got a freekick which was hit by Alisdair Fostar. Sam McGilbert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nigel McQuisten during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Ayr booed when Bristol Brigde House was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nigel McQuisten didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tom Gold fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Declan McCoull having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sam McGilbert in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Declan McCoull prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 87th of the match, Sam McGilbert tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Declan McCoull got in the way and made a wonderful save. Declan McCoull showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sam McGilbert in the 90th minute of the match. Bristol Brigde House's Declan McCoull played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sam McGilbert in the 92nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Ayr's zone, Stevie McDavid stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ter Murchison came out of the goal and Stevie McDavid tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 97th minute, Bristol Brigde House's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Tom Gold fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Ayr eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
