Spectators: 6774 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1774, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ken McCrindle kicked off to start the match. In the 3rd match minute, Ayr was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gus McDulothe to maneuver through the defense. Ter Murchison made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Greig Barton sent off a good shot on target. Ter Murchison was out of position in the 11 minute of play, and Ken McCrindle capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ken McCrindle really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Ter Murchison made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Greig Barton sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Ayr's zone, Greig Barton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ter Murchison came out of the goal and Greig Barton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sam McGilbert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 22 minutes into the match, Ayr's Sam McGilbert sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Darius Colman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 25 minutes, Sam McGilbert mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ayr and the Lochearnhead players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 25th minute, Sam McGilbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Darius Colman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tom Gold, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sam McGilbert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sam McGilbert's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Darius Colman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Greig Barton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Ter Murchison tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Craig Cluny kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Greig Barton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ter Murchison having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sam McGilbert was the one to do the kick off. Tom Gold sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 55 minutes, Greg Duffy mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lochearnhead and the Ayr players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 55th match minute, Lochearnhead was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Greg Duffy to maneuver through the defense. When Craig Cluny fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ayr's protests and gave Craig Cluny a yellow card for diving instead. After 57 played minutes Ayr got a freekick which was hit by Craig Cluny. After 60 played minutes Lochearnhead got a freekick which was hit by Paul McCodrum. If Tom Gold had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sam McGilbert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Darius Colman having to interfere. Sam McGilbert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 68thth minute of the game Ken McCrindle who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ayr's Ter Murchison was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 68 played minutes Ayr got a freekick which was hit by Nicol McMaster. Ken McCrindle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ken McCrindle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ter Murchison having to interfere. Sam McGilbert might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Darius Colman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sam McGilbert ran back to his position shaking his head. After 86 minutes of play, Lochearnhead's Paul Coulson made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ter Murchison was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ter Murchison came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Lochearnhead's Greig Barton. But to his dismay, Greig Barton quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Sam McGilbert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Darius Colman having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Lochearnhead had won after a very even match.
