Terry Cobb fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ben McNey having to interfere. Lossiemouth City's Lee McIlleriach got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Grant Lawrie managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tarbert AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Grant Lawrie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wally Fairbairn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lee McIlleriach in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ben McNey saved Tarbert AFC from getting behind. In the 29th match minute, Tarbert AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brian Arbuckle to maneuver through the defense. Ben McNey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Terry Cobb in the 32nd minute of the match. Lossiemouth City's Wally Fairbairn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Lossiemouth City from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Lossiemouth City's Stewart McEachran got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Aidan McCririe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Wally Fairbairn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lee McIlleriach to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aidan McCririe in the 58th minute of play forced Lossiemouth City's goalkeeper Wally Fairbairn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Brian Arbuckle fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tarbert AFC's protests and gave Brian Arbuckle a yellow card for diving instead. In the 63rd match minute, Tarbert AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brian Arbuckle to maneuver through the defense. Lee McIlleriach might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ben McNey. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The tension between the Lossiemouth City and the Tarbert AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Tarbert AFC booed when Lossiemouth City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stewart McEachran didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Aidan McCririe managed to get in a good position for a shot.
