Spectators: 6774 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1774, VIP seats: 0) Lee McIlleriach started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. When Keith Stringer fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Strathaven United's protests and gave Keith Stringer a yellow card for diving instead. Strathaven United's Josh McGlasrich proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Strathaven United from getting a goal against them. In the 8th match minute, Lossiemouth City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Terry Cobb to maneuver through the defense. In the 11thth minute of the game Lee McIlleriach who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Strathaven United's Josh McGlasrich was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Iain McKinnon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Wally Fairbairn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Iain McKinnon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wally Fairbairn having to interfere. In the 24th minute Fraser McKim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wally Fairbairn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Josh McGlasrich made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Terry Cobb sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Terry Cobb got free with Josh McGlasrich in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 34th minute, Lee McIlleriach fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Strathaven United's defense didn't have a chance, in the 36th minute, when Lee McIlleriach scored to the left of an out of position Josh McGlasrich, making the score, 1-0. Lossiemouth City's Wally Fairbairn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iain McKinnon in the 46th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Iain McKinnon was the one to do the kick off. After 54 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Lossiemouth City! In the 57th minute there was a penalty for Strathaven United. Walter Dinwoodie stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Wally Fairbairn. 1-1. Stewart McEachran recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 63 minutes into the match, Strathaven United's goal looked a bit too open when Terry Cobb came free, but Josh McGlasrich reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Terry Cobb in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Josh McGlasrich prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Terry Cobb sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Wally Fairbairn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iain McKinnon in the 72nd minute of play. When Iain McKinnon fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Strathaven United's protests and gave Iain McKinnon a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Strathaven United getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Iain McKinnon hit a great ball. After having played for 76 minutes, Terry Cobb managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lossiemouth City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Terry Cobb was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Josh McGlasrich took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gregor Airlie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 85th minute, Billy Castle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lossiemouth City's Wally Fairbairn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Lossiemouth City from getting a goal against them. Terry Cobb's late challenge caught a Strathaven United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Terry Cobb helped the player get up and apologised. Terry Cobb kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. When Iain McKinnon came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Strathaven United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iain McKinnon couldn't finish the play. Wally Fairbairn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iain McKinnon in the 93rd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gregor Airlie during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Strathaven United booed when Lossiemouth City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gregor Airlie didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Lossiemouth City's zone, Fraser McKim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wally Fairbairn came out of the goal and Fraser McKim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
