After 2 minutes, Gavin Hay mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the High Land Scotland and the Dalbeattie City players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to High Land Scotland getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Gavin Hay hit a great ball. Liam McBeth who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 4thth minute tested the skills of Ivan Kendrick when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ronald O'Shannaig showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronan Lockerbie, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Donald Enrick during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Liam McBeth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Grant Sinclair in the 17th minute of play forced High Land Scotland's goalkeeper Ivan Kendrick to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Grant Sinclair sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Grant Sinclair kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ivan Kendrick. That made the score 1-0 in the 20 minute of play. Ivan Kendrick made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Grant Sinclair in the 25th minute of play. With a little luck, High Land Scotland's Ivan Kendrick got control of the ball when Liam McBeth tried to sneak it across the goal line. Grant Sinclair fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Kendrick having to interfere. Ivan Kendrick was a little too slow when Grant Sinclair got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 32nd minute. The score was now 2-0. Eric Morris hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Wally McNiven, 42 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. A collision led to High Land Scotland getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Connor Thain hit a great ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ronan Lockerbie to strike the kick off in the second half. Ivan Kendrick made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Grant Sinclair in the 52nd minute of play. Ivan Kendrick showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Grant Sinclair, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Dalbeattie City's Ronald O'Shannaig proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Dalbeattie City from getting a goal against them. High Land Scotland's Ivan Kendrick played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Liam McBeth in the 65th minute of play. After some careless play in the High Land Scotland defense, Grant Sinclair kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ivan Kendrick. The High Land Scotland fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ivan Kendrick should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in High Land Scotland's zone, Liam McBeth stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivan Kendrick came out of the goal and Liam McBeth tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Liam McBeth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gregor Philipson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronald O'Shannaig having to interfere. High Land Scotland's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
