Gullane's Andy Graham proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Gullane from getting a goal against them. In the 5th minute Mike Russell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eddie McRae saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 8th minute Jay McAndrew shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andy Graham saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 12 minutes into the game, Jay McAndrew recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Andy Graham. Jay McAndrew showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Jay McAndrew blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Andy Graham having to make a save. Nicky Basnett hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Matt McBurie's late challenge caught a Pokémon GO's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Matt McBurie helped the player get up and apologised. In the 20th match minute, Gullane was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matt McBurie to maneuver through the defense. Rod Neilson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eddie McRae having to interfere. After 26 minutes of play, Gullane's Rod Neilson made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eddie McRae was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 31 minutes, Luke McOwl mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pokémon GO and the Gullane players grew even worse after the yellow card. Luke McOwl hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. 32 minutes into the match, Gullane's Irvin Hudson broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Rod Neilson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Calum McMonies received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Andy Graham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jay McAndrew to strike the kick off in the second half. Andy Graham took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jay McAndrew, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A well placed Rod Neilson short distance shot in the 57th minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. The Gullane fans' excitement grew in the 61st match minute when Gullane's Mike Russell looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Jay McAndrew sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 72 minutes into the match, Jay McAndrew had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Andy Graham. Gullane's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jay McAndrew was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. Calum McMonies sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mike Russell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eddie McRae having to interfere. In the 87th minute, Rod Neilson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eddie McRae showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rod Neilson in the 95th minute of the match. Gullane's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
