Spectators: 6808 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1808, VIP seats: 0) Ronald O'Shannaig made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rod Neilson in the 4th minute of play. Rod Neilson took the ball and in the 5 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ronald O'Shannaig. Ronald O'Shannaig dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Mike Russell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronald O'Shannaig having to interfere. Liam McBeth's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andy Graham read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rod Neilson in the 18th minute of play forced Dalbeattie City's goalkeeper Ronald O'Shannaig to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marcus Cumin during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 21 minutes into the game, one of Gullane:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 23rd minute, Wally McNiven left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Dalbeattie City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Liam McBeth got free with Andy Graham in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Grant Sinclair blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Andy Graham having to make a save. Gullane's Andy Graham proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Gullane from getting a goal against them. Rod Neilson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Mike Russell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Grant Sinclair was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th minute, Rod Neilson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 61 minutes into the game, Liam McBeth cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Andy Graham was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rod Neilson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronald O'Shannaig having to interfere. With a little luck, Dalbeattie City's Ronald O'Shannaig got control of the ball when Mike Russell tried to sneak it across the goal line. Andy Graham showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Liam McBeth in the 72nd minute of the match. In the 74th minute Grant Sinclair shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andy Graham saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Grant Sinclair received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Andy Graham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 85th minute, Mike Russell left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gullane fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Ronald O'Shannaig was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Gullane walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
