Spectators: 6786 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1786, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Grant Sinclair started the match with the kick off. Mike Russell struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Ronald O'Shannaig didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gullane. Ronald O'Shannaig made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Mike Russell sent off a good shot on target. Gullane's Mike Russell got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ronald O'Shannaig took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rod Neilson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Raymond McRa kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. In the 11th minute, Terry McIlwraith hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mike Russell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Ronald O'Shannaig tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dalbeattie City's Ronald O'Shannaig played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rod Neilson in the 16th minute of play. A hard shot 17 in the game by Mike Russell from a close distance when the talented Ronald O'Shannaig managed to make a qualified save. Dalbeattie City's players were relieved. In the 19th minute of the match, Rod Neilson tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ronald O'Shannaig saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Rod Neilson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Ronald O'Shannaig tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 28th match minute, Dalbeattie City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian McKellar to maneuver through the defense. Andy Graham took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Grant Sinclair, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Gullane's zone, Liam McBeth stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andy Graham came out of the goal and Liam McBeth tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mike Russell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Rod Neilson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gullane's Andy Graham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Liam McBeth in the 45th minute of play. Ronald O'Shannaig showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rod Neilson in the 49th minute of the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rod Neilson made a kick off. Dalbeattie City's Ronald O'Shannaig played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mike Russell in the 53rd minute of play. In the 55th minute Rod Neilson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronald O'Shannaig saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 2-0 became the score in the 58th minute when Rod Neilson elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 61 minutes into the game, Marcus Cumin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gullane's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dalbeattie City the free kick. Marcus Cumin hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. A collision led to Dalbeattie City getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Raymond McRa hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Rod Neilson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gullane's supporters rose to their feet, but Rod Neilson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronald O'Shannaig breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 74th minute, Rod Neilson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ronald O'Shannaig took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rod Neilson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Rod Neilson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Gullane's zone, Liam McBeth stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andy Graham came out of the goal and Liam McBeth tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mike Russell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronald O'Shannaig having to interfere. In the 98th minute Rod Neilson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronald O'Shannaig saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
