Grant Sinclair started the match with the kick off. If Gregor Philipson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Gregor Philipson managed to get in a good position for a shot. High Land Scotland's supporters rose to their feet, but Gregor Philipson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronald O'Shannaig breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 10th minute, Liam McBeth got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ivan Kendrick made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Liam McBeth in the 12th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Liam McBeth's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ivan Kendrick was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. If Grant Sinclair had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Liam McBeth recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Liam McBeth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Ivan Kendrick tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Gregor Philipson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ivan Kendrick took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Liam McBeth, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ronald O'Shannaig took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronan Lockerbie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 34 minutes into the game, Hugh Ewing was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. High Land Scotland's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dalbeattie City the free kick. A collision led to High Land Scotland getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Hugh Ewing hit a great ball. In the 37th minute Grant Sinclair shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Kendrick saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as High Land Scotland's Ronan Lockerbie slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ronald O'Shannaig. That made the score 1-0 after 41 minutes of play. Gregor Philipson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ronan Lockerbie to make the kick off. If Grant Sinclair had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 52 minutes, Eric Morris mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the High Land Scotland and the Dalbeattie City players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, High Land Scotland's Eric Morris got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Ivan Kendrick was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Grant Sinclair showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 53 minute of play. 62 minutes into the match, High Land Scotland's goalkeeper Ivan Kendrick had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Liam McBeth. Liam McBeth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Kendrick having to interfere. Grant Sinclair recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 70th match minute, High Land Scotland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gavin Hay to maneuver through the defense. 71 minutes in the game, Grant Sinclair fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ivan Kendrick having to interfere. Wally McNiven's late challenge caught a High Land Scotland's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wally McNiven helped the player get up and apologised. Connor Thain shot the penalty kick right outside the post. After 79 minutes, Edward McAngus mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the High Land Scotland and the Dalbeattie City players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 78th minute, one of High Land Scotland:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for High Land Scotland. In the 82nd minute, Gavin Hay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 86th minute, Eric Morris hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The High Land Scotland supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Dalbeattie City's performance. The match ended with a win for Dalbeattie City.
