In the 20th minute, Gullane's Rod Neilson ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ivan Kendrick. Ivan Kendrick yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. 26 minutes into the match, Gullane's goal looked a bit too open when Ronan Lockerbie came free, but Andy Graham reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 33rd match minute, Gullane was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Irvin Hudson to maneuver through the defense. In the 34th minute, Connor Thain sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Gullane's Andy Graham didn't even have to move. Rod Neilson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Kendrick having to interfere. Ivan Kendrick showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mike Russell, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. After 47 minutes, Tyler Frissell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gullane and the High Land Scotland players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Gullane getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Tyler Frissell hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Rod Neilson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gullane's supporters rose to their feet, but Rod Neilson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ivan Kendrick breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rod Neilson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 60 minutes into the match, High Land Scotland's goal looked a bit too open when Rod Neilson came free, but Ivan Kendrick reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Gullane booed when High Land Scotland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eric Morris didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ivan Kendrick made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mike Russell in the 68th minute of play. Gavin Hay hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Gullane's Irvin Hudson couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 71st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for High Land Scotland. A collision led to High Land Scotland getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Hugh Ewing hit a great ball. High Land Scotland's Ivan Kendrick played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matt McBurie in the 86th minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, Gullane's goalkeeper Andy Graham had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gregor Philipson. Gullane's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
